Joseph Kong of the Duston Chiropractic Clinics in Northampton
Principal Chiropractor

Joseph Kong

  • DC, M.Chiro, LRCC
  • First class degree, AECC University College
  • Master’s and internship, Welsh Institute of Chiropractic
Joseph’s chiropractic journey began during his military service in South Korea. His time in the air force was a life changing experience that gave him the drive to build a career around helping others. After completing his service he travelled to the UK, where a relative recommended he see a chiropractor at the AECC clinic for a troublesome shoulder. The treatment, and his first hand experience of chiropractic care, left a lasting impression.

Back in Korea, that impression never faded. Joseph made the decision to leave his electronic engineering course behind and return to the UK to train as a chiropractor, arriving with very little English and starting out with two and a half years of intensive language study. From there he completed an adult access course before enrolling at the AECC, graduating with a first class degree, then went on to complete his Master’s and internship at the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic, giving him the unusual experience of studying at both of the UK’s leading chiropractic institutions.

Joseph owns and leads Duston Chiropractic Clinic. One of his guiding principles is that prevention is always better than cure, and he carries that philosophy into the way he treats every patient.

Outside the clinic, Joseph enjoys working out at the gym, with a particular focus on functional exercises aimed at correcting posture and muscle imbalance and reducing the risk of future injury.

Xiao-Wei Low of the Duston Chiropractic Clinics in Northampton
Chiropractor

Xiao-Wei Low

  • MChiro, Welsh Institute of Chiropractic
  • DC, M.Chiro, LRCC
  • Trained in Diversified, SOT, Drops, Activator, Dry Needling and Sports Taping
Xiao-Wei’s path into chiropractic began close to home. Watching both her parents recover from long-standing back issues after a course of chiropractic treatment left a strong impression on her, and she has known since she was young that she wanted a career in healthcare. It was the hands-on, patient-centred nature of chiropractic that ultimately sealed her decision.

She graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic with a Master of Chiropractic degree and spent three years working in a clinic in North Norfolk before relocating to be closer to family and joining Duston Chiropractic Clinic.

Xiao-Wei works with each patient to manage and resolve their symptoms, drawing on a wide range of techniques, including Diversified, SOT, Drops, Activator, Dry Needling and Sports Taping, tailored to the individual and their condition.

Outside of work, Xiao-Wei enjoys yoga, long walks and trying out new recipes in the kitchen.

Xiao-Wei is currently on maternity leave.

Fia Magnusdottir
Chiropractor with special interest in Pregnancy & Paediatric

Fia Magnusdottir

  • MSc Chiropractic, AECC University College
  • Paediatric placement, AECC University College
  • GCC registered
Fia’s route into chiropractic began with seeing firsthand the difference it can make to people’s lives. Enjoying working with and helping others, she found chiropractic offered the ideal combination of people and purpose, working closely with patients while helping them get back to doing the things they enjoy.

Born in Iceland and raised in Norway, Fia grew up experiencing two different cultures and ways of life from an early age. A passion for sport as a child sparked her fascination with how the body moves, adapts and recovers, setting her on the path towards a career in healthcare.

Fia completed her Master’s degree in Chiropractic at AECC University College, where she also completed a paediatric placement. Growing up in a large family gave her an early love of being around children, which naturally developed into a particular interest in paediatric care. She built on this further, working under one of Iceland’s leading paediatric chiropractors and gaining hands on experience caring for infants, children and their families.

As a chiropractor, Fia enjoys helping patients of all ages understand their bodies better and supporting them through every stage of their health journey. Her aim is to provide personalised care that helps people move well, feel well and stay active.

Outside the clinic, Fia keeps active, follows sport and enjoys exploring new places.

Nick Wilderspin of the Duston Chiropractic Clinics in Northampton
Chiropractor – Kislingbury Chiropractic Clinic

Nick Wilderspin

  • MChiro, Welsh Institute of Chiropractic (2009)
  • Special interest in low back pain and rehabilitation
  • Founder, Duston Chiropractic Clinic and Kislingbury Chiropractic Clinic
Nick has a special interest in low back pain and rehabilitation, with a strong belief in true patient-centred care. He takes a functional, active approach to back pain, paired with a genuine enthusiasm for helping patients build lifelong exercise habits.

Over the years he has continued to build on his knowledge through further training, including a mentorship with First Principles of Movement, which underpins his evidence-based, patient-centred approach to spinal treatment and rehabilitation. In May 2019 he attended the European McGill Conference in the Netherlands, an in-depth course on the evaluation and management of low back pain drawing on Professor Stuart McGill’s decades of research. He has also attended further seminars covering sports chiropractic, lower limb sports injury, kinesiotaping, acupuncture, Active Release Technique and golf-related injuries.

Nick graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic in 2009 with a Master of Chiropractic degree. He is registered with the General Chiropractic Council, the British Chiropractic Association and the Royal College of Chiropractors, and keeps his skills current through annual continuing professional development.

He set up Duston Chiropractic Clinic in April 2017, after working at clinics in Sheffield, Mansfield, Market Harborough, Nottingham and Milton Keynes. Having grown up in Northampton, he and his wife moved back home in 2012 ahead of the arrival of their first daughter. In autumn 2022 he opened Kislingbury Chiropractic Clinic to expand the practice’s rehabilitation services.

Nick is a keen climber, both indoor and outdoor, and enjoys anything that keeps him outside and active. It was his own experience of sports injuries that first brought him into a physiotherapy treatment room as a patient, and from the age of 15 he knew his career would be in manual therapies.
